This unit describes characteristics and purposes of Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocol Reference System (EMDPRS) protocols, types of Individual Chief Complaints and techniques to determine them. It also discusses techniques and procedures to obtain and evaluate patient signs and symptoms, time/life critical incidents, and how Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs) should determine and respond to them.
